The Greatest Deal Of All

The Greatest Deal Of All | November 29th

According to the National Retail Federation and the consumer research firm Prosper Insights & Analytics, an estimated 183.4 million people are expected to shop in stores and online from Thanksgiving night to Cyber Monday. Notably, around 131.7 million of those shoppers are expected to make their purchases today on Black Friday. Total sales for the day are projected to exceed the $10 billion mark!

One major reason for the holiday gift rush is the deals that stores offer as incentives. Some retailers have "doorbusters" for those who come as the stores open. In years past, patroons even slept outside on Thanksgiving Night to secure their spot in line. Everyone loves a sale, but I don't know if sleeping on the sidewalk is worth it!  Nevertheless, savvy shoppers will be surfing the internet, hustling, and bustling to get their bargain.

What if I told you that a once-in-a-lifetime deal is available to you, and you can share this news with as many people as you want because the inventory of this gift will never run out?  I am not referring to toys, trinkets, gadgets, gear, or flashy items. What I have in mind can not fade or break. This Black Friday, you have the opportunity to receive the greatest gift of all: the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.

I understand that many of the gifts we buy are not necessarily needed, but God's grace is essential. We need the Good News of the Gospel to counter the bad news and the reality that, apart from Christ, we cannot attain God's forgiveness and peace.

Here's some of the Good News for the bad news:

Romans 3:23,  "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Romans 6:23,  "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 10:9,  "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Based on these verses, here’s how you can secure the greatest deal of your life: First, admit to God that you are a sinner and repent, which means agreeing with Him and turning onto His path. Next, believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for your sins and rose again from the dead. Finally, ask Jesus to be your Savior and Lord, and to grant you eternal life.

This, my friends, is a deal of a lifetime! If you have already embraced this deal, please share this devotional with a few friends and pray for God's best in their lives.
