Acts Of Goodness Reverberates In Heaven

Acts Of Goodness Reverberates In Heaven | August 10th

For sound to travel, there has to be something for vibrating particles to go through, like air, water, or wood. On Earth, those particles have conduits through which to travel. However, there is a vacuum in outer space, meaning there is no matter for vibrations to work in. Therefore, there is no sound there.

The sound of your deeds works similarly. Acts of charity, kindness, and mercy reverberate because they travel through generosity. With your generous sharing and serving, vibrations go to heaven, and God is pleased. Giving also sets a standard that transcends trials, troubles, and even time. A noteworthy example of this is the Macedonian church. Paul used these believers as a model for generosity. Although they faced adverse circumstances, they excelled beyond measure in giving to the Jerusalem church. Second Corinthians 8:8 says, "I am not commanding you to do this. But I am testing how genuine your love is by comparing it with the eagerness of the other churches."

Little did they know that their faithfulness in helping with the offering for Jerusalem would be used to encourage the Corinthian church and every church in history after that. God used their generosity as He did the widow who gave out of her poverty in the Gospel of Mark. Reading these stories and others like them challenges and inspires us to raise our game in giving and to continue the legacy of generosity for the greater purpose of spreading God's love.

The American President, Calvin Coolidge, said, "No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave."

With this in mind, seek to be generous because that is how you truly make an impact that lasts. All of your charitable and kind acts reach into eternity. Matthew 25:23 reminds us of this point, "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!"
